“Don’t Just Reach For The Stars…
Sing, Dance & ACT with them!”
Combine all the excitement of a theater trip to North America’s major cities with extremely unique and exciting Musical Theatre and Drama programs involving prominent members of local performing arts communities and you truly have an “Extraordinary Educational Experience”!
Musical Theatre groups and Drama students get the rare opportunity to work directly with the individuals who bring Broadway and other professional theatres to life across the country. Featured artists include Broadway performers and theatrical coaches, as well as leading directors, drama coaches, costume designers, and TV personalities – the possibilities and opportunities are endless.
Every EPT program is tailored to meet the specific needs of your group when you speak directly with the featured artist(s) prior to the event.
The Art of Improv
This two hour workshop focuses on the basics of improv, through games and exercises. Concepts include spontaneity, listening, storytelling, status, and making one’s partner look good. This fun and exciting class helps to teach how to think on your feet, and be funny doing so. No prior experience necessary!
The Audition Process
Just how does one get to be a member of a Broadway cast? What is one expected to do at an audition? What is the process all about and how does one prepare? Students get an inside look at how current Broadway stars get their parts. Two wonderful and charismatic Broadway veterans with the help of their vocal coach and accompanist, present an exciting song and dance hour illustrating the depth of their talents and their personal approach to important auditions.
Broadway Bound
Students discuss the important details about what is needed to plan for a career on Broadway. The guest speaker is chosen by your group from one of the following areas of the showbiz industry: a cast member from one of Broadway’s current hits; a member of the creative team of a current show; a leading NYC casting director; a company manager or a technical director from a current show. This program will provide students with a “behind-the-scenes peek” of the steps needed to make a career on Broadway a reality.
Broadway Song & Dance
Groups get into the Broadway “state-of-mind” during this 2 hour clinic, where they learn an authentic Broadway Song & Dance combination from a Broadway “triple threat” (dancer, actor, singer), and a professional New York City vocal coach. The group rehearses and perfects the vocals and choreography to a classic Broadway routine.
Meet-The-Artist
Groups enjoy a fascinating hour of performance and conversation with a leading artist from the Broadway show of their choice. Guest artists from Lincoln Center, Film, Television or the technical and visual creative arts are also available. Backstage anecdotes and personal success stories offer inspiration.
Private After Show Cast Party
Pre-theater dinner parties also can be arranged! The show may be over but the night has just begun! Students enjoy an hour-long party after the Broadway in a private area of a fun midtown restaurant. We will arrange for one cast member for every 15 students. Light dinner will be served.
